Virgin Atlantic - PA Media
The Project

Virgin Atlantic

The Brief

Virgin Atlantic were excited to announce the first ever
commercial flight to use 100% SAF (sustainable aviation
fuel) from London Heathrow to New York, JFK. Flight100
hosted Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic CEO, Shai
Weiss, and Transport Secretary, Mark Harper MP. We
were commissioned to capture video content at each
stage of the historic flight.

The Solution

PA Media Assignments had a crew at Heathrow to film the
take-off and interview key spokespeople, then edit that
content immediately afterwards to distribute on the PA
wire. We also had a camera operator at a high vantage
point live streaming the take-off to the PA Video portal.

We also had a crew at JFK airport capturing the landing
and a crew on the plane filming vox pops with
passengers of Flight100. We captured the journey from
start to finish, from fuelling the plane with SAF to the plane
landing in New York.

The Results

The coverage of the story and video content went global,
with thousands of viewers tuning into the live stream of
the take-off. French media agency AFP took the live
stream, Reuters created their own package from our BRoll. ABC News, USA Today, ITV News, The Independent,
BBC, CBS News New York, CBS Evening News, The Times &
Sunday Times, all used our footage for their own news
packages. The story dominated the news agenda across
TV, online, radio, and print
