Staff Spotlight - Holly Barrett, Account Executive, Assignments

We specialise in creating impressive photography and bespoke videos that connect brands with their audiences through the production and distribution of exceptionally creative and editorial visual content.

Our expertise lies in delivering outstanding visual content for PR, brand and advertising campaigns, high-profile events, live performances, product launches, social media, and more.

In our very first staff spotlight, we are pleased to introduce Holly Barret, our Account Executive, who brings her sales and account management expertise to the table and finds great satisfaction in the autonomy of her role.


What is your job role at Assignments and what does a typical working day entail for you?

As an Account Executive at Assignments, my typical working day revolves around targeting specific accounts for upselling opportunities and consistently prospecting new clients. Building and nurturing client relationships is a vital aspect of my role, and I make it a point to establish myself as the go-to person for our clients. Additionally, I handle general account management tasks, ensuring that all information is up to date on SalesForce, which is particularly crucial as professionals in the PR industry often change roles.

How would you describe Assignments in one sentence?

Assignments is a constantly exciting and ever-evolving company, home to a diverse and talented group of creative individuals.

Tell us about your career journey, both at Assignments and what led you to work here.

My career path has been quite diverse, ranging from facilities and law to food and drink before transitioning into sales. In my previous role, I worked for an ed-tech start-up, where I served as an account manager, relishing the opportunity to build strong client relationships and drive revenue through sales targets. When the chance to work at Assignments emerged, I eagerly embraced it due to my keen interest in the industry.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

Being relatively new to this industry and having spent only about three months here, every day presents me with fresh opportunities to learn something new. It’s safe to say that I thoroughly enjoy the entire job and find every minute of it exciting!

What’s been the biggest changes in the PR & Comms industry that you have noticed?

The PR & Comms industry has experienced significant changes, with technology playing a pivotal role. One notable shift is the rise of AI, which, initially uncertain to me, has now become a major driving force in the field. As this powerful technology continues to evolve, its impact on the industry is poised to soar to unprecedented heights.

How do you see the industry changing within the next five years?

Looking ahead, I believe the industry will continue to embrace emerging technologies, particularly as consumer demands evolve, and advancements enhance the quality and accessibility of these technologies. Furthermore, the merging of technology and data analytics is set to drastically change how we gather information and assess the effectiveness of PR & Comms campaigns.

Tell us a bit about yourself outside of work. What hobbies do you enjoy?

Beyond work, my greatest joy lies in spending quality time with family and friends. I cherish socializing and consistently seek opportunities to surround myself with the company of others, as it brings me immense happiness and fulfilment.
