The Brief

The Assignments Team were tasked to produce, film, and edit video and imagery of the coral reef restoration efforts in Indonesia, more specifically on Salisi’ Besar (Hope Reef) off the island of Sulawesi. The luxury cat food brand Sheba was behind the project and since the start of the programme coral growth has increased from 2% to 70%, a 64% rise in the number of fish species, with the fish population increased by 260%.

The Solution

We sourced local crew that could capture drone, ground, and underwater content for video and pictures. The team spent two days in the water and at Hope Reef capturing the restoration efforts from the locals and the Mars Sustainable team. Ex-British Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds was on location to give the story a UK hook and helped with the efforts of installing the coral reef stars on the bed of the ocean.

The Results

We worked closely with the PA environmental team to get the story out on the wire, where the images and video were embedded in that article. The story was picked up nationally with video content used on Good Morning Britain, The Sun, The Telegraph, and The Independent. The video subsequently was picked up over 100+ times across online platforms as a result of PA distributing the content.
