The Uber Coronation Carriage

The Brief
Ahead of the King Charles III coronation, we were approached by our client and PR agency HOPE&GLORY, on behalf of UBER, to capture, in a London park, video and photography content of members of the public riding in a replica of the coronation state carriage. A great example of a newsjacking activity, ahead of arguable one of the most UK stories of the last 70 years.
The Solution
After a recce of Dulwich Park, we helped shape the photo shot list to include GV’s or the carriage moving, passengers waving and subtle incorporating of the shot UBER branding in shot, essential for branded content like this to pass editorial tests. We created a risk assessment, factoring in involvement of members of the public, and shot with moving camera and Go-PRO’s to create a sense of movement and pace in the edit. We conducted vox-pop’s, to capture the sense of excitement of the day.
The Results
The project received blanket coverage and results for our client across print and digital media, to truly make this one of the more memorable pre-coronation PR stunts. Outlets featuring our content included The Evening Standard, The Independent, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Timeout, ITV, Metro and countless more….
